SEED projects match faculty seeking real-world projects for their classes with projects in community-based economic development programs. Some SEED projects involve a single class for part of a semester. Larger projects may encompass a multidisciplinary team, and extend for more than one semester. Students range from sophomores to Ph.D. candidates. New SEED projects and partnerships continue to emerge and ongoing programs expand. SEED CENTERS: SEED Centers involve multiple partners and encompass a number of SEED projects. They are typically designed to address a particular issue in a region. SEED Centers are test beds for evolving economic development models. Programs and projects are introduced and the results evaluated for their applicability to the model. SEED Centers have a formal structure, a clearly articulated vision and mission, and a working plan with detailed goals and objectives.
